Watch sites from Bonney Butte, OR to Cape May, NJ, and Belize to Ontario to celebrate IHMW from September 17-25, 2016. Here are ways a few sites plan to celebrate raptor migration. For more details, contact site coordinators for each location at HawkCount.

NORTHEAST
Cape May, NJ, will be offering free Hawk ID Mini-Workshops on Sept. 17, 18, 23, 24, 25. 10:30-11: East Shelter, Cape May Point State Park. Hawks, Trails, and Beach walk, Sept. 17 and 24. 3:00-5:00pm. Meet next to Hawk Watch Platform, Cape May Point State Park. $6 members/$10 non-members
Carter Hill, NH, will be displaying their banner throughout the week, holding a Hawk Watch Festival, recruiting HMANA members, and holding an ID workshop. Details at www.nhaudubon.org
Pack Monadnock, NH, will be displaying their banner throughout the week, holding a Hawk Watch Festival, recruiting HMANA members, and holding an ID workshop. Details at www.nhaudubon.org
Suffield WMA, CT will be displaying their banner and recruiting HMANA members.
Quaker Ridge, CT, will hold their annual Hawk Migration Festival September 17-18, where they will display their banner, recruit HMANA members, and maintain a raptor ID workshop.
Mohonk Preserve, NY, will be displaying their banner, holding an ID workshop and a “Big Day” event.
Mount Peter, NY, will display their IHMW banner, hand out copies of their 2015 season, and share ID tips and information with visitors.
Wildcat Ridge, NJ, will be displaying their new banner and celebrating IHMW by handing out ID sheets and other available materials about hawks. Scout groups often visit the site, and we do ID workshops for them as needed.
CENTRAL/SOUTHERN US
Grandfather Mountain, NC, will be displaying their banner and recruiting members for HMANA throughout the week.
Mount Magazine, AR, will hold a Hawk Watch Festival and ID workshop.
Sassafras Mountain Hawk Watch, SC, will be displaying their banner and recruiting HMANA members.
Hanging Rock State Park, NC, will display a banner, recruit HMANA members, and offer an ID workshop and “Big Day” event.
Rockfish Gap Hawk Watch, VA, will have their banner on display, hold a Hawk Watch Festival, ID workshop, and celebrate with a table devoted to HMANA’s mission and IHMW to raise awareness.
South Carolina Coastal Raptor Migration Survey, SC, will be displaying their banner during their annual festival.
GREAT LAKES/CENTRAL REGION
Bethany Hawk Watch, MN, will be recruiting members and holding a Hawk ID workshop.
Fort Sheridan, IL, will display a banner and participate in a “Big Day” birding event. Their festival in October will promote HMANA and Hawk Watching.
Detroit River Hawk Watch, MI, will be displaying their banner during their Hawk Watch Festival.
Holiday Beach, ON, will display their IHMW banner and hold a Hawk Watch Festival and ID workshop to hand out HMANA brochures.
GULF COAST + CENTRAL AMERICA
Cattle Landing, Belize will be displaying their new banner, recruiting members, and offering a Hawk ID workshop during their Hawk Watch Festival. They will also host a “Big Day” event.
Bensen Rio Grande State Park, TX, will display their banner and offer an ID workshop throughout the week.
Veracruz River of Raptors, Mexico, will be offering various Hawk ID workshops and presentations.
