The marauder of marsh and meadow occurs just about everywhere in migration. In spring it is fairly common on the northeast coast, fairly common to common around the Great Lakes, uncommon elsewhere. Large numbers at Braddock Bay, NY. Fall distribution is similar with major concentration points at Cape May, NJ, Kiptopeke, VA and Hawk Cliff and Holiday Beach, ON. Has the most protracted migration of any species. Spring migration begins in late February, continuing into May. Peak is the first half of April. Some begin moving in fall as early as late July. Immatures peak from mid September to mid October, followed by adults into early November. Stragglers into December.
