Cooper's Hawk

A common migrant over much of the United States, less so at northern latitudes and Canada. Good spots include Goshute Mountain, Nevada; Marin Headlands, California; Cape May, New Jersey. Spring: Sandia Mountains, New Mexico and Braddock Bay, New York. Spring migration mostly late March through April. Fall migration peaks from late September through the third week October in the east, a bit earlier in the west.
